Review || Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

Review, Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
Skincare is not something that I experiment much with, as once I have found a product that works for my skin I stick with it. One product that I have been using for ages now is the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturiser and I only realised recently that I have never reviewed it here on my blog so I thought I would do that today.
Review, Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
As someone with combination, dehydrated skin I struggle to find moisturisers that are hydrating enough without being too heavy. This moisturiser is the perfect formula for me because it is incredibly hydrating but because it is a light gel it isn't at all heavy on the skin and doesn't break me out, which many skincare products do.

As it is such a light formula it absorbs really quickly into the skin and leaves the skin feeling really soft and smooth without any sticky feeling on the skin meaning your skin doesn't feel clogged at all which I really love, especially if I use it in the mornings. It does provide a good base for makeup so if you wanted to use this as a morning moisturiser it would work really well with whatever base you are wanting to follow it with.

At the moment I am using this moisturiser in the evening only and using another product in the morning, only because my skin can be a bit oilier in the summer and I prefer something less hydrating in the day but as a night cream this really works wonders. Whenever I run out of this and don't have a backup (which hardly ever happens anymore as I always try to have a spare one somewhere) I notice a really big difference in my skin and it can look a lot less healthy.

Have you ever tried this moisturiser?

The Sunday Post || Things to Do This Week

The Sunday Post || Things to Do This Week
For today's Sunday Post I thought that I would do a round up of some of the things I have been loving recently that I think you should try this week including my current favourite workout, recipe, YouTube video and book.

EAT
Ever since I saw these delicious Raspberry Breakfast Muffins in one of Amelia Liana's videos they have been a firm favourite of mine. They are the perfect, healthy breakfast and are so delicious it is hard to believe that they are relatively good for you. I love having these for breakfast or as a snack throughout the day.

WATCH
About a week ago Em from My Pale Skin posted this amazing tutorial on YouTube and I absolutely loved it. One because I love Em's tutorials and two because it was a tutorial of my favourite Snapchat filter, the golden butterfly one. I am yet to try this out but it really is stunning and such a good idea for a tutorial. If you haven't already watched this I would highly recommend that you go and do that now.

TRY
I have been a big fan of Karena and Katrina from Tone It Up for years and have loved all of their workouts. This week I tried one that I hadn't already tried, the Pool Side Workout, which I absolutely loved it. If you haven't tried any of their workouts out before, definitely give this one a try this week.

READ
Since tidying my room last weekend I started reading the Marie Kondo book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying. Now you definitely have to take this book with a pinch of salt as it can be a bit extreme but the main ideas are really good and I can definitely say that once you have read it you will have an urge to start tidying and organising your stuff, so if you need some motivation to tidy and sort out your things, try reading this book and see if it helps.

I hope you have a good Sunday, and let me know if you give any of these a try!

Review || Max Factor Masterpiece Nude Palette in Cappuccino Nudes

Review, Max Factor Masterpiece Nude Palette in Cappuccino Nudes
When I was browsing the aisles of Boots about a month ago I stumbled across a palette I hadn't seen before on the Max Factor counter, the Masterpiece Nude Palette in Cappuccino Nudes, and it looked right up my street. A nude, neutral toned eyeshadow palette, so of course it went in my basket because there was no way I was leaving Boots without it.
Review, Max Factor Masterpiece Nude Palette in Cappuccino Nudes
Firstly, this palette has the perfect shade selection, ranging from lighter shades through to really dark shades, with an even mixture of matte and shimmery shadows, so it is really easy to create a beautiful eye look with this palette. I have also used all of the shades and I can say that there is not one shade in this palette that I don't love.

The thing that really stood out for me though was the consistency of the eyeshadows. When you swatch them they are so buttery and creamy and I personally think that they are the best eyeshadows I have found on the high street for this reason. With the buttery consistency comes amazing pigmentation, and this is consistent throughout the palette, which I think is amazing considering the palette only costs £14.99.

I also love the fact that these shadows have amazing lasting power and don't crease or smudge at all and still look really pigmented, even at the end of the day, so no need for any touch-ups throughout the day.

Have you tried this palette before?

Minimal Makeup

Minimal Makeup
We all have those days when the alarm doesn't go off and you are left with little time to get yourself ready and out of the door in time. I have definitely had my fair share of those days so I think that now I have a good little makeup routine for those days where time is not on my side and I thought I would share it with you today.
Minimal Makeup
Firstly I start with concealer and I love to use the No7 Instant Radiance Under Eye Concealer first to colour correct and then add a little bit of the Seventeen Stay Time Concealer to brighten under my eyes. I also use this one on any other blemishes on my face. I then go in and set that with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and then I will move on to brows.

I always make sure that I do my brows, even when I don't have much time. To do this I will use the Sleek Eyebrow Stylist in Medium and then I will set them with the Maybelline Brow Drama in Deep Blonde.

The next step for me is to apply mascara and my favourite one is definitely the Clinique High Impact Mascara because it adds a lot of volume and length to the lashes.
Minimal Makeup
The next steps are a lot more optional and I only add them if I have time. If I do have time then I will go on and add some bronzer and/or blush so that my skin looks a little more awake and for this I tend to reach for my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette as the shades in this palette are gorgeous.
Minimal Makeup
Then I might add a little bit of lipstick (usually a nude one like the Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Nude Pop) and then run out of the door!

What is your typical makeup routine if you are in a rush?

Review || Topshop Glow Pots

Review, Topshop Glow Pot, Highlighter
Review, Topshop Glow Pot, Highlighter
Topshop makeup is always something that people rave about and one of the products that I always see is the Topshop Glow Pots so when I saw them in one of my local stores I decided it was about time that I picked up the two shades, Polished and Gleam to try them out.
Review, Topshop Glow Pot, Highlighter
Let's start with Polished. This is a cooler, paler toned iridescent highlighter, which works really well on my paler skin. This would probably be the one out of the two that I would reach for in the winter when I am not wanting a bronzed look. The iridescent finish of this product really helps places like your cheekbones to pop and when it catches the light it is absolutely stunning.
Review, Topshop Glow Pot, Highlighter
Gleam is the more bronzed version, which is perfect for this time of the year when you want to look glowy and bronzed. It isn't iridescent but does have a shimmer to it so again, helps wherever you apply it to pop.
Review, Topshop Glow Pot, Highlighter
The shades and shimmer in both of these products are very wearable and can be applied as subtly or intensely as you like. I personally tend to dab a little bit onto the high points of my face and either blend with a brush or my fingers. It blends really well into the skin and sits well on top of other makeup like foundation.

Have you ever tried Polished or Gleam?

The Sunday Post || Manicure Routine

The Sunday Post, Manicure Routine, Nails, Essie, Rimmel

I think Sunday is the perfect day for a bit of pampering. I like to relax as much as possible on a Sunday, to prepare myself for the week ahead and one of things I sometimes do as part of my pamper routine is to have an at-home manicure. So as it is Sunday today, I thought I would share with you my typical manicure routine when I want a proper pamper instead of just slapping on a couple of coats of polish and running out of the door.

PREP
If I am going to do a proper manicure routine I always like to make sure that I prep my nails and so that the finished look is as good as it can be. Firstly, after removing any left over nail polish, I like to trim and file my nails so that they are the length and shape that I want them to be. I will then gently push back my cuticles and then I am ready to go onto applying a base coat. I love the Essie Grow Stronger Base Coat but to be honest I am not picky at all when it comes to base coats, so any one will do.

COLOUR
The next step is to add the nail polish that you want to apply. Two of my favourites at the moment are the Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection in Soul Session and Bikini So Teeny by Essie. Typically I apply two coats of these, although sometimes the Rimmel one needs 3 coats as it is a paler colour.

FINISH
I always apply a top coat over the top of nail polishes to help make it last longer and also to add a little extra shine to the nails. The one I use is another Essie product, the Essie Good to Go Top CoatI then apply some cuticle cream. Nothing fancy here, just the Boots Expert Cuticle and Nail Moisturiser. I then apply some hand cream, my favourite being the L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream and then I am done.

I hope you have a fabulous Sunday, I'm off now to do my nails!

The Smallest Sephora Haul in History

The Smallest Sephora Haul in History. Sephora, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, Sephora Mini Multitasker Brush
When I went to Mallorca last week I knew that I needed to go to Sephora, simply because I haven't been to one for a long time. However, although there were plenty of things that caught my eye, I only left with two  things, and both of them were mini versions of the originals. I know, mad! I left a beauty store only spending 20€ *insert shocked face emoji*. However, even though it will be the smallest haul in history of all hauls I still wanted to show you what I picked up.

Firstly I picked up the Sephora Mini Multitasker Brush. I have the full size of this brush and absolutely love it, so when I saw that they did a smaller version I instantly knew I had to get it. I thought that this would be a good brush to keep in my bag for touch ups throughout the day or even for blending in things like concealer, especially around my nose and under my eyes. It is just as soft as the bigger version and I can't wait to properly use this brush.

The other thing that I picked up was a mini version of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I have wanted to try this mascara out for so long as I have heard so many amazing things about this product and it is pretty much one of the cult products in the beauty blogging world. As I wasn't sure if I would like the mascara I decided to pick up the mini version which I believe was half the price, just to try it out and if I like it I will buy the full sized version.

I still have a lot on my wishlist from Sephora, so maybe I will be placing an order some time soon!

Have you tried any of these products?
