Things I Love About Christmas || Blogmas 2015

With Christmas rapidly approaching I thought that I should do a post on the reasons why I love Christmas. Everyday I am getting more and more excited for the big day and all of the festivities that come with it and I really wanted to share with you my favourite parts of this time of year.
1. Christmas Movies
Whether it is a kids Christmas film like Elf or a rom-com like Love Actually or The Holiday, I love sitting down in the evening with a mug of hot chocolate and watching a Christmas movie since what other time of the year is it socially acceptable to watch Christmas movies?
2. Decorations
If I had my own house the decorations would be up on December 1st, although my family disagree! I love any form of decorations, especially Christmas trees and fairy lights as they make me feel even more excited for Christmas and make your house look really pretty.
3. Christmas Songs
I am a Christmas song lover and as soon as it hits December I will be listening to Christmas songs almost exclusively as my choice of music. I personally prefer the old 70s and 80s classics over newer songs like Wham's Last Christmas, Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas? and Wizzard's I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday and as soon as I hear them I am instantly in a more festive mood.
4. Christmas Sets
The beauty sets that come out around this time of year are an amazing way to try new products as you often get really good ideas. Not only that but they make really good Christmas presents for the people in your lives that are a little bit makeup obsessed. This is also a good time of year to stock up on some travel friendly minis as there are usually a lot of handy travel sets available now.
5. The Food
I am a big fan of Christmas food. The meal on the day itself and all of the extras that are enjoyed in the time running up to then. Some of my favourites are Christmas cookies, chocolate boxes (especially Heros) and Christmas themed sweets, because let's face it they taste so much better when they are shaped as a reindeer than when they are not.
6. The Presents
Both receiving and giving presents is fun and buying the presents is also something I enjoy doing. Although I find it quite difficult to find the perfect gift for some people, I enjoy going Christmas shopping as it is like guilt-free shopping which suits me perfectly!
7. The Atmosphere
Everyone is always in a much better mood during the weeks running up to Christmas and there seems to be a happier vibe around as everyone is getting excited for the big day.
8. Christmas Adverts
The John Lewis one is always a favourite of mine as they are always so cute and really amazing however many brands and shops have very unique and festive adverts at this time of year and it does make those boring advert breaks a bit more bearable when the adverts are Christmassy.

Those are some of my favourite things about Christmas. What are yours?

Winter Lipsticks || Blogmas 2015

As part of Blogmas I thought it would be a good time to do a post about my favourite lipsticks that I reach for during the winter months. Ranging from everyday nudes to darker berry shades I have all grounds covered for any winter appropriate lip shades.
Winter Lipsticks || Blogmas
Let's start with the nude shades. One of my more recent additions to my nude lipstick collection is Clinique's Pop Lip Colour in Nude Pop. This is a mixture between a pink and brown nude so makes the perfect everyday shade for this time of the year. I like the texture of this lipstick as well as it is not too matte or too glossy so lasts longer than a super glossy formula. For a more glossy version the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Proudly Naked is the one that I reach for. This is a very similar shade to the Clinique one but with a slightly different finish. The final nude shade is the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien. This is a slightly darker nude which I love to use in the evenings for a more dramatic nude look.
Winter Lipsticks || Blogmas
For darker more winter typical shades I also have three that I like reaching for at this time of the year. Firstly is the most pink berry shade, the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush. This is a great one if you don't want a very obvious coloured lip as you can have a really thin, light layer of it or you can really build it up for a stronger pigmentation. The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry. This is a very dark lipstick with a very moisturising formula so it doesn't cling to dry patches. I love this lipstick but I find that it needs to be used with a lip liner and for that I love using the Topshop Lip Liner in Girl Bye. The colour is almost identical to the lipstick so I can get a really clean line which I don't without it. The lip liner is matte so it very long lasting and makes the lipstick last longer too.

What are your favourite winter lipsticks?

Winter Wonderland || Blogmas 2015

Last week, myself and my friends visited Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland, a festive Christmas market with ice skating and various different rides. I have been to Winter Wonderland once before and it definitely didn't disappoint this time either. If you like Christmas themed things, this place is definitely for you.
If you aren't in the Christmas spirit yet, a visit to Winter Wonderland will definitely put you in it. With Christmas themed market stalls offering a variety of possible gifts and every type of food you can think of on offer there is something for everyone.
After ice skating and devouring a duck and hoisin wrap (which was amazing FYI!) we headed over to the fair ground section, and to grab even more food (chips and Dutch pancakes to be exact!). Although I didn't go on any of the rides, if you are an adrenaline junkie then some of these rides will be perfect for you, although personally I preferred to keep both feet on the ground.

If you are in London and want to feel even more festive then I would highly recommend a visit to Winter Wonderland as it is such a good way to spend an evening in London.

Have you visited Winter Wonderland?

Skiing Beauty Essentials || Blogmas 2015

Something you may not know about me is that I am an avid skier and have been skiing since I was 4. However skiing is not the most glamorous occasion, with chapped lips, tangled hair and the potential of dry, sunburned skin. So today, I have decided to tell you about what I consider to be essentials for a skiing holiday. The only thing I haven't included as I didn't have one with me was a skiing SPF, which we usually buy when we arrive. Let's get into this.
Skiing Beauty Essentials || Blogmas
To deal with tangled and dry hair an leave in conditioner is the best product for the job. I personally love the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance because not only does it do an amazing job at rehydrating and de-tangling your hair but it also smells absolutely amazing. For skin, I still like to have a little bit of coverage but I really don't want something heavy or matte. The product I will be reaching for is the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue as it is quite hydrating, has a dewy finish and is really lightweight. To deal with my chapped lips I like to use a slightly heavier lip balm, like the Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Balm as it is really moisturising and is the perfect product for post skiing lips. I get very dry skin under my eyes without the harsh conditions of skiing so an eye cream is even more necessary when I am skiing. I absolutely love the Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm as it is soothing, hydrating and cooling so great for puffy eyes. Finally is an intense moisturiser, my favourite being Clinique's Moisture Surge Extended Relief. It isn't too heavy so it doesn't break me out but it adds a tonne of hydration to my skin so hopefully it won't become to dry during my trip.

What are your skiing beauty essentials?

My Christmas Wishlist || Blogmas 2015

With Christmas around the corner I have had to do a little bit of thinking as to what I would like to receive this festive period and I thought as it is now Blogmas it would be the perfect opportunity to share it with you.
First up, the Jo Malone Wood Peony & Blush Suede Cologne as I have heard so much about this fragrance and I smelt it in store once and loved it so it had to make an appearance on this wishlist. Next up is Laura Mercier Sweet Temptations Crème Brûlée Duet. I have wanted these products for ages because they smell absolutely amazing. The Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheats have been talked about a lot in the beauty blogging world and I am yet to try them. The one I would like to try is Pink Venus as I think it would work well with my paler skin and make the perfect everyday lip shade. I have been a fan of Millie Mackintosh ever since she first appeared on Made in Chelsea and so of course I really want to get her book, MADE which is a mixture of beauty, fashion, fitness and food, which are all things I really love. This ASOS coat has been on my wishlist for ages and I think it would be the perfect coat for the colder winter weather. Another Charlotte Tilbury product now, the Filmstar Bronze and Glow which is another well-loved product in the beauty blogging world which I feel I need to try. The Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop is something I have wanted ever since it came out and now it will be available in the UK I want it even more! Another makeup product now (surprise, surprise...) but I couldn't create a Christmas wishlist without this product featuring in it. I mean how could I resist this beautiful Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit featuring 2 of their blush shades, one of their bronzer shades and three of their powders. Since I love baking I thought that these copper measuring cups would be perfect because 1. They are so cute and 2. They are copper, any copper obsessed persons dream. Next up, Madeleine Shaw’s book, Get the Glow, which has been on my wishlist for ages and recently I have been obsessed with her recipes on her blog. Therefore I feel like I really need to get her book as it has many more amazing recipes than her blog. Finally on this wishlist is another thing I have wanted for quite a while, the Zoeva Rose Golden Vol. 2 Complete Eye Brush Set. It is so pretty and I am always in need of more brushes and I think these ones would be the perfect addition to my collection.

That is all that is on my wishlist for this year. What's on yours?

November Favourites 2015 || Blogmas 2015

November Favourites 2015 || Blogmas 2015

So it has been a while hasn't it?! But I'm back *hopefully* and hoping to try and do my own variation of Blogmas. I won't be posting every day but I have 14 posts planed all the way up until Christmas so expect a post every other day and a few more in between all the way up to the 25th! Today's post is Blogmas Day One and although it is not a Christmas themed post I think it is a good post to start the month off with. So let's get into my favourites from last month.

After the whole strobing thing that happened recently, highlighters have been everywhere so it only felt right to pick up at least one highlighter since my collection was lacking. I picked up this Collection one on a whim as I hadn't heard much about it but it looked like it could do the perfect job. It is a gorgeous subtle highlighter shade that works perfectly for my paler skin and since it is so subtle it can be used during the day without the dreaded glitter ball look.

This has been a favourite of mine for a while now and I always find myself going back to it as it I know it suits me and I feel comfortable wearing it. Being a slightly more glossy finish means that I don't have to worry about it clinging to dry patches on my lips which is definitely a plus for me now that it is winter. I have been reaching for this quite a lot over the past month and I can see myself continuing to reach for it for a while longer.

This was a freebie in the December issue of Glamour magazine (the one with Tanya Burr on the front) and when I saw this as one of the free gifts I had to pick it up. I have wanted to try these lipsticks for so long as I have heard such good things about them. This one is the perfect nude shade as it isn't too pink or too brown and works well with all makeup looks. Another great shade for everyday and one that I can't stop using.

Although I have tried many different concealers over the years for my under eye circles I always end up going back to this one. It is so lightweight that it doesn't crease but it still covers up my under eye circles incredibly well. I always feel like I need something to cover my dark circles but I hate heavy products there so this one is a great alternative.

Since I wear eye makeup almost everyday I need something that will take it all off at the end of the day. I have tried and loved many different ones over the years and a range that I can always rely on is the Body Shop Camomile range as I personally find that these products do an amazing job. This particular product is better for the days when I am not wearing much makeup up as it is very gentle but it really does remove all of my makeup. I much prefer using something like this than using face wipes as I think they do a better job and are better for your skin.

So there was Part 1 of Blogmas and my November favourites. What did you love last month?

NOTD || Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection in Soul Session

NOTD || Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection in Soul Session

A little while ago I posted about the new(ish) Kate Moss range for Rimmel which features nude lipsticks and nail polishes. I am still obsessed with both of the products that I mentioned, particularly the nail polish as the colour is very simple and the fact it doesn't chip very easily is definitely a plus for me.

The colour is a gorgeous nude colour that is almost the same shade as my skin so it really elongates your hands and it is such a chic, everyday shade that goes with everything. It is also really glossy, even without a top coat and because it is a nude colour when it does chip it is very hard to notice as it is a very similar colour to my nails.

The application is also very easy as the brush is wide enough to cover the whole nail without being too wide that it completely drowns your nails.

Have you tried this products before?

October Favourites 2015

October Favourites 2015
October is now over and done with which can only mean that it is favourites time. I skipped the monthly favourites last month, simply because I didn't have anything in particular that I loved, however this month I have quite a few things I have been reaching for daily that I haven't in previous months.
October Favourites 2015

Firstly the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I have had this stuff for ages now and have gone through stages of loving it and stages of not loving it so much. Recently I have been loving it to cover blemishes as it is the perfect colour for my skin at the moment and gives a good enough amount of coverage to cover spots up without being too cakey and heavy.

Another Collection thing I have been loving this month is the Fast Stroke Eye Liner. I will admit that I didn't love this product when I first got it as I found it difficult to apply and it never gave me the desired look. However this month I tried it again and I found a way that works for me. Once I had removed most of the product on the brush I found it a lot easier to work with and apply than before and it is perfect for creating a flick.

As October is the month of Halloween and I feel like it is when things start to feel wintery I have been loving the Topshop Lip Liner in Girl, Bye This is the perfect winter colour but definitely one I would only wear in the evenings simply because I am very much a nude lip girl in the day however you definitely could wear it during the day. It is really long lasting as it is matte and the pigmentation is amazing. I really want to find a lipstick that is similar to this to wear over the top.

The NARS Laguna Bronzer has been a favourite of mine ever since I got it but recently it has become an essential for me to avoid the ghost face look I would have without it. I also like it as a contour as it isn't too dark or orange so it can still give the effect of a natural contour.

The Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink has been a much loved product this month because of it's lasting power and the fact I can get a really thin line along my lash line which is perfect for everyday wear. I find it so easy to apply and as it lasts so long I don't have to worry about it falling down my face at the end of the day.

Finally for this month's favourites is the Sephora Eau de Toilette in Vanilla. I'm not a big perfume girl however this little fragrance has become a favourite of mine this month because it is delicious. For me, it reminds me of Christmas and the scent isn't too overpowering.

What have you been loving this month?

Black on Suede || Boutique of Molly, Daisy Street, Zara
After seeing the suede skirts everywhere I finally caved and bought one last month as I think they are such a gorgeous piece for any Autumn/Winter wardrobe. I paired this beautiful Daisy Street Scalloped Skirt with this Lace Up Top by Boutique of Molly* which I absolutely love as it is very simple and can be worn with so many different things. Although in the above photos I am not wearing a coat (it wasn't so cold when I took these photos!) you could easily just throw on a coat or jacket for those days when it is a bit colder.

For my bag, I am using this gorgeous one from Zara that I picked up quite a while ago now, so I can't find it on the website but you might be able to find it in store.

5 High End Products Worth Buying

5 High End Products Worth Buying

There is no denying it, I love high end makeup. From the beautiful, sleek packaging to the product quality, you usually do get what you pay for. However I know how annoying it is to buy an expensive product, for it to be a massive disappointment. So today I thought it would be a good idea to put together a post on 5 high end products I would definitely recommend buying.
5 High End Products Worth Buying
For base I couldn't be without the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue to even out my skin without being heavy or cakey. I love a light base all year round and this definitely is my favourite at the moment. For concealing those pesky under eye circles I always rely on my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to conceal and brighten that annoying area. Although I have some high end powders and bronzers I couldn't do a post like this and not include one of my all time favourite products, the Clinique Blushing Blush Powder Blush in Iced Lotus as I write about this product all of the time. It is a gorgeous blue-toned pink with a small amount of shimmer running through it to add a gorgeous highlight to your cheekbones.

For eyes I had to include the Clinique High Impact Mascara as it adds a nice amount of volume to my lashes and make them stand out without being too over the top for everyday use. I also find it never clumps so you don't end up with spidery lashes.

Finally for lips it had to be MAC Lipsticks. Their colour range is amazing so there will definitely be a shade there for everyone and I love the finish of the shades I have. I definitely need to add to my rather small collection.

What are some of the high end products you think are worth buying?

Autumn Wishlist

I have been in a #feelingspendy mood for the past month, so much so I have had to put myself on a spending ban for most of the month of September, up until payday. Now payday has come and gone and I haven't spent too much money, I thought I would compile a little Autumn themed wishlist as I have a lot of gaps in my wardrobe that need filling for this season.

Some of my favourite bloggers

Some of my favourite bloggers, Hello October, Holly Loves The Simple Things, Coco Chic, Couture Girl

As a blogger I like to spend some of my free time reading other blogs and finding out about new products, recipes and trends. I thought that today it would be the perfect opportunity to share with you some of my favourite bloggers that I read on a regular basis.

I absolutely love Holly's blog and her YouTube channel. She has some amazing style posts and I am always finding new clothes that I want to buy after reading her posts. As I already mentioned I also love her YouTube channel as her videos are so easy to watch and they always put me in a good mood after I have watched them.

If you are ever in need of some blogging tips and tricks, Steph's blog is the place to go. I found her post on blogging, taxes and HMRC particularly helpful as it is a topic that isn't often discussed in the blogging world, even though it is an important matter. Steph's posts also always have me giggling as her personality is hilarious and it really comes through in her blog posts (and her YouTube videos, which are also worth a watch).

Kayleigh's blog was one of the first blogs I read and I am still enjoying reading it to this day. She writes amazing reviews of a range of different products, from makeup to skincare to haircare and she has recently started doing more style posts which I am really enjoying.

I am absolutely obsessed with Suzie's blog because of two reasons, her photography and her style. I honestly wish I had Suzie's wardrobe and after every outfit post she does I always feel the need to go shopping, although it doesn't take much to make me want to go shopping. I also absolutely adore her food posts that she does featuring restaurants that she has visited recently.

Do you read any of these blogs?

Review || Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection #DareToGoBare

Review || Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection #daretogobare

Back when these were first released in the summer I was very excited to try them. Although I haven't ever tried any of the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks, I have heard excellent things about them and so when a nude collection was brought out, it sounded like my perfect range.

It consists of 6 nude toned lipsticks and 5 nude toned nail polishes in the Salon Pro formula. The two products I picked up from this collection are the lipstick in shade 45 and the nail polish in Soul Session.
Review || Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection #daretogobare
Let's start with the lipstick. This particular shade is a dusty pink shade which I find really flattering for my skin tone. It is an easy to wear everyday shade that is a little different than most of my other pinky nudes. The finish is slightly glossy but it isn't too shiny so the lasting power is pretty good compared to some other more glossy products.

Finally the nail polish, which I think is my favourite out of the two products that I bought. This is not only because I love the colour and is the perfect everyday nude shade that goes with everything but it also lasted 5 days on me without a single chip in sight, which is a very rare thing to happen as usually within 2 or 3 days at least 3 of my nails have a chip on them. The formula also has a really glossy finish so looks like it has a top coat on it, even when it doesn't.

After trying these two products from the range, I really want to try some of the other shades.

Have you tried any of this collection?

Transitional Outfit || Orelia, ASOS, Primark, Topshop

This time of the year is awkward when it comes to choosing what to wear. You wake up in the morning and it is freezing cold but by 11 o'clock the sun is shining and it is 20°C. An outfit I have been loving for this weather is what I would describe as the perfect transitional outfit.

Transitional Outfit || Orelia, ASOS, Primark, Topshop

I recently picked up this jacket/cardigan from Primark and it is definitely going to become an Autumn/ Winter essential for me, especially for this time of the year as it is effectively a lightweight coat. The shoes are another recent purchase from ASOS and although I am still breaking them in they aren't too uncomfortable and I can get through most of the day before they are hurting my feet.

The jewellery pieces are from Orelia and I am in love with them all. The ring is the Delicate Double Row Midi Ring* that is so delicate that you can wear it with other pieces or alone like I have in the photos above. I think this is a really good ring for everyday wear as well because of the fact it is so simple.

The necklaces are the Double Circle Ditsy Necklace* and the Silver Circle Pendant Necklace*. I am a big fan of silver jewellery as I think that the colour usually suits my skin tone a little better than gold does. I have layered the necklaces in the above photos but you could easily wear them on their own as well.

I hope you enjoyed this post. What are your favourite transitional pieces?

Recipe || Buckwheat and Blueberry Pancakes

Recipe || Buckwheat and Blueberry Pancakes

Last year when I was in Santa Monica we went to a cute little coffee shop called Cora's for breakfast every morning. On the menu were Buckwheat and Blueberry pancakes and since then I have been obsessed with having buckwheat pancakes instead of regular pancakes. So today I thought  I would share the recipe that I have been using to make them.

To make between 2 and 4 pancakes, depending on the size, you will need:

75g of Buckwheat flour (you can use plain flour if you want to make regular pancakes rather than buckwheat ones)
1 tsp of baking powder
1 egg
75ml of milk
A handful of blueberries
Oil of your choice
Syrup of your choice

1. Mix the flour and the baking powder in a jug/bowl
2. Then add the egg and milk to the jug/bowl and mix well until the mixture is smooth
3. Add the oil (I used coconut oil) to a heated pan and then pour the mixture onto the pan and add the blueberries to the pancakes
4. Allow to cook until you can see air bubbles appearing and then flip over and cook on the other side
 5. Finally, after placing them on a plate add your choice of toppings you want. I added golden syrup although I would prefer to have maple syrup but we had run out.

Then eat and enjoy!!

Review || L'Oreal La Palette Nude - Beige

Review || L'Oreal La Palette Nude - Beige
Believe it or not I don't own an Urban Decay Naked palette, and although I do want one I never know which one to get and I don't really fancy forking out £40 for a palette that I might not like. However when I saw the L'Oreal La Palette Nude in the shade Beige was in the Duty Free catalogue on the plane I decided parting with £15 for a palette was much better then parting with £40!

This palette has been around for a while now and I don't know why I never picked it up before. For me it is the perfect palette housing 10 neutral shades, 6 matte and 4 shimmers so you can literally do any neutral eye look and take it from day to night by simply adding one of the darker shades.

Review || L'Oreal La Palette Nude - Beige
I would have to say my most used shades are the shimmery shades as I love shimmery eyeshadow however I have been reaching for the third colour from the left quite a lot for my crease as it is the perfect blending colour.

The lasting power of these is good, but without a base or primer I find they do fade by the afternoon and don't look as pigmented. But if I use a cream eyeshadow as a base I find they last me all day and don't crease or smudge down my face.

Review || L'Oreal La Palette Nude - Beige
I also think the range of colours is good. Having a good mix of light and dark shades with matte variations and shimmery ones I feel like there is something for everyone in this palette. I can quite easily see myself reaching for this everyday for quite a while from now.

Have you tried this palette before?

Review || Simple Kind to Skin+ Illuminating Radiance Cream

As a dewy skin lover I am always looking for products to help highlight my skin and make it appear more glowy so when I saw that the Simple Kind to Skin+ Illuminating Radiance Cream was on offer in Boots I had to get it, I mean it was only about £4, bargain!

This is probably the easiest way of getting glowing skin as all you have to do is apply it to your face like you would your moisturiser (although I tend to focus it on the high points of my face as this is where I want to look highlighted) and blend it in and you can instantly see a difference to your skin. You could also apply this over your makeup once you have applied your foundation for extra glow, however I find that just by putting it on underneath your makeup you get a gorgeous glow that lasts all day.

What I love most about this product is that it is very lightweight and absorbs immediately into the skin so when you go to apply your foundation/tinted moisturiser it doesn't feel like an extra layer, it just feels like you are applying it to your skin. It also contains UVA and UVB protection with an SPF of 15 which means it is a great addition to your skincare routine as you should always wear SPF, even when it isn't sunny.

August Favourites 2015

August Favourites 2015, L'Oreal, Lipstick Queen, Essie, MAC, Simple

So I guess that is summer over then? Although I don't even think summer started here in the UK as the weather has been so bad this year. However I managed to get a week of sun last month in Spain so some of this months favourites are very much summer appropriate.
August Favourites 2015, MAC

Although I would always choose dewy looking skin over matte skin I do love a good setting powder as they can help make your makeup last longer and help avoid the oily look. This MAC powder is perfect as it isn't too heavy that it mattifies your skin completely but it does help take away that shiny look and leaves behind a gorgeous dewy appearance to the skin, no oil in sight!
August Favourites 2015, L'Oreal

Although I only got this towards the end of the month, this has quickly become a favourite of mine. I will be doing a review of this product in a few weeks time so keep your eyes out for that, but in short this is a really travel-friendly palette housing 10 nude eyeshadows, 6 matte and 4 shimmery, it is perfect for creating a gorgeous neutral eye look. I find that with a primer or cream eyeshadow underneath these shadows last all day and the shades are perfect for me. For only £14.99 this is such a bargain.
August Favourites 2015

Aloe Vera Gel
After getting heat rash whilst I was in Spain we picked up some Aloe Vera gel to put on it to help calm it down and prevent it from feeling itchy. After a few uses my heat rash was definitely improving and felt a lot less irritated and uncomfortable. A great tip I read a while ago is to put your Aloe Vera gel in the fridge so that when you use it, it is even more calming for your skin. Not the most glamorous of products, but boy was it essential.
August Favourites 2015, Lipstick Queen

Venturing out of the nudey-pink lip look can be something I struggle with. I know what I suit and what I don't and typically brighter colours don't look great on me. However recently I have been reaching for this lip gloss/pen/chubby stick quite a lot. Since it is a glossy formula you can go for a really sheer wash of colour, or keep layering it up to create a more pigmented look. It is a slightly pinky-toned red which I think suits me quite well. Maybe I might be getting braver in the lipstick department!
August Favourites 2015, Essie

Essie Nail polish in Bikini So Teeny and Go Ginza
There is no denying that Essie are my favourite brand of nail polish so it only seemed right that the colours I wore on my nails on holiday were from them. I chose Bikini So Teeny for my toes and Go Ginza for my fingers since both of these colours are very summer appropriate. Bikini So Teeny will forever be one of my favourite polishes not only because it is a gorgeous colour, but it also has a great name. Go Ginza is the perfect pale lilac colour that looks great against my pale skin but I could imagine it would be really flattering if you had darker skin than me as well.

Simple Kind To Skin+ Illuminating Radiance Cream
If you want glowing skin this is definitely the product for you. I have a review of this going up on Sunday so I am going to keep it short and sweet. This is the perfect product to create the dewy, highlighted appearance that I love. Because it soaks into the skin so easily it doesn't feel heavy or make it feel like you have another layer of makeup on. I have been applying this to the high points of my face before my tinted moisturiser and it has really helped me to achieve the glowy look that I want.

So that wraps up my favourites for another month. What products have you been loving recently?

Update: Blogging Break, New Design and Name and Blogging Schedule

Hello everyone, it has been a while hasn't it? After taking a few weeks break from blogging I am back with an update post as lots of things have happened recently.

First of all, my blogging break. Although I wasn't planning on having a break from blogging I decided to take a few weeks out whilst I was away to let myself have some time to relax and spend time with my family. Even though I love blogging, not blogging for a little bit was definitely what I needed as I now have a lot more motivation to blog and a lot more ideas. I think I was getting into a bit of a blogging rut but now I think I am out of that, which I am very happy with.

Once I got back from my holiday I decided that what my blog needed was a bit of a re-brand and a makeover. This has been something that I have wanted for a while now as although I liked my original blog name, Gloss, Glitz and Glamour, I just didn't feel like it fit my blog any more. So I have changed the name to Chloe Louisa (www.chloelouisa.co.uk) as I think under this name my blog isn't just a beauty blog and it could allow me to expand into other areas outside of beauty a little more than my original name. With this re-branding I have changed some of my social media names. I am now @_chloelouisa on Twitter, @chloe_louisa on Instagram and Pinterest and my email for all contact related to my blog is now blogchloelouisa@gmail.com. I am really happy that my social media names are now a bit more similar as hopefully it will make finding me a little easier than before.

I have also got a new design from Pipdig. It is the Viva Viva template which was only £29, which I think is a bargain considering that it has a lot of features to it. I would highly recommend using Pipdig as they are really useful and reply to your questions really quickly. The setting up guide that comes with the template is also really easy to follow so installing it yourself is possible.

Finally I have decided to do a slightly different blogging schedule. Before the summer I was posting twice a week, on a Wednesday and a Sunday but now I want to post three times a week adding Tuesday to my original posting schedule. Another thing I want to introduce is a 'Sunday Post'. I'm not sure at the moment what I want it to be, if I want a theme to them or not, but once I have decided on one I will let you know.

What do you think of my new blog name and design?

Makeup Storage || The Muji Drawers

Today is the first instalment of the posts focusing on my room redecoration, my Muji Drawer Storage. I picked up these Muji drawers before redecorating it and I now understand why every blogger seems to have these to store their makeup in. They are very simple, acrylic drawers that are very easy to stack, which is great if you have a large makeup collection. I uses mine to store my most used makeup and then in the large draw of my Ikea Malm Vanity I store other products that I don;t use as often but still use occasionally.

On top of the drawers I keep my brushes in this really cute white and gold mug that I picked up in Wilko a few months ago for £2 which I thought was a bargain, my MAC Eyeshadow palette and my NARS Virtual Domination palette. I also store my NARS Sheer Glow foundation as it is too big to store easily in the drawers, but it is a foundation I do often reach for on days when I need a bit more coverage. I also have my eos balm to moisturise my lips before applying my makeup.

In the first draw I keep my face products such as my foundations, tinted moisturisers, concealer and powders. This is an area of my makeup collection that is very small, hence why I can keep quite a lot of different products in one drawer.

The next drawer down is where I store my blushes, bronzers and the few highlighters that I own. Obviously these include my NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna, Clinique Blushing Blush Powder in Iced Lotus and the Sleek Contour Kit in Light as these are things I reach for on an everyday basis.

The third drawer contains my eyeshadows and I have to admit, this is probably my least favourite drawer and the one I go into the least. I have a lot of Clinique palettes that were limited edition/free when you spent a certain amount on Clinique products. The only thing I reach for on a daily basis in this draw is the Rimmel palette that I use for my brows, but the rest of the products in here are not used very often.

The next drawer is a very full drawer. It contains, eyeliners, mascaras, brow products and eyeshadow sticks. Obviously I have my Maybelline Brow Drama in this drawer, which I use everyday for my brows. I also have my two By Terry Ombre Blackstars, my Clinique High Impact Mascara and my L'Oreal Superliner Perfect Slim.

The final makeup drawer is my lip product drawer. I love this drawer simply because it is very aesthetically pleasing. I have my MAC Lipsticks in here along with my Bourjois Colour Boosts, Topshop Lipsticks and the Lipstick Queen Chinatown lip pencils.

The last drawer is a miscellaneous drawer of backup products, sample sized products and Blue Tack, a bloggers best friend.

I hope you enjoyed seeing part of my makeup collection today. Do you have any Muji storage for your makeup?

Summer to Autumn Lips

I know it is probably too early to be thinking about autumn and winter but with the weather recently you really can't blame me. I have been wearing wintery clothes, searching online for new autumn and winter clothing and it won't be long until I want to wear darker shades of lipstick and adding eyeliner back into my makeup routine. So I thought today I would share some of the lipstick shades that I think you can get away with wearing in the summer and as the autumn really starts to commence.

A new addition to my collection and I absolutely love it. It is quite a neutral nude that has a slightly glossy finish so is very comfortable to wear. Although it is quite neutral I don't find that it washes me out or makes me look dead like some very neutral shades do which makes it very easy to wear and it will go with pretty much all makeup looks.

If you want to create a bigger lips look or you prefer matte finishes this one is the one. As it is matte it stays on the lips for a long time and really doesn't budge. It can also be worn underneath all of the other lip products in this post as well as being worn alone.

I haven't stopped going on about this since I got this so I am sorry if you are bored of hearing about it but it is a gorgeous shade. Being slightly brighter than any of the other offerings this is perfect for when you don't want to accept that summer is over. It is slightly glossy so very easy to wear and it looks stunning with a heavier eye look and with a lighter, more summer appropriate eye look.

More of a neutral nude colour again here but this is perfect for all times of the year. Although if you are not careful you can look a bit dead with this shade but lightly applied it is the perfect everyday lipstick. This is perfect as it isn't a shade that is typical to a particular season so can be worn all year round but it is amazing for this awkward "is it summer is it winter" time of year.

A beautiful glossy nude which I love to wear over Eastend Snob, but can also be worn alone. This is great if you want a subtle, my-lips-but-better shade. I haven't reached for this one over the summer but I definitely will over the next month or so as it isn't anything dramatic and eye-catching, but it is perfect for an everyday choice.

What are your favourite transitional lip shades?

My Most Used Makeup Brushes: Eye

I love makeup brushes as I think a good makeup brush can transform any makeup look. Gone are the days of using those awful sponge-tipped applicators to apply my eyeshadow, I now have upgraded to the likes of MAC, Benefit and Real Techniques. I have 5 beautiful eye brushes that help me achieve the eye look that I want and I am going to tell you about them now.

Probably the most well known and loved brush in the makeup/beauty blogging community and rightly so. This is the perfect crease brush and blending brush (so much so that I am thinking about getting another one just for blending as I love it that much. It can also be used to sweep eyeshadow across the lid if you don't want anything too harsh. If I could only recommend one MAC brush, this would be the one. It was also my first MAC brush that I owned!

This is another blending brush, that can also be used to blend in concealer under your eyes. I have been loving this brush recently for blending out harsh lines from eyeshadow and also to apply really pigmented shadows if I only want a wash of colour. It is one of the softest brushes I have ever felt which is a definite plus!

Last MAC brush I promise, but they are great quality brushes so you really can't blame me for featuring three in this post! This brush is great at packing on colour to the lids as it is a flat brush rather than being domed like the other two. If you like the cut-crease look this can be quite good at creating a more solid line in the crease compared to the other two that would create a softer line. This would be a great addition to any brush collection.

This is my go to brush for brows and also for gel liners, or for applying eyeshadow as an eyeliner. It isn't too thick or too thin so it is perfect for both jobs and I couldn't be without it. Without this brush my brow game would not be strong at all (although I am still working on my strong brow game...). I don't own any other Benefit brushes but if they are anything like this one then they will be pretty good.

Although this is a face brush and I do use it for my base I use it to blend in under-eye concealer so I decided to include it in today's post. This is the best brush I have found to blend in under-eye concealer (other than the MAC  286). It isn't too tough on the skin but it still blends out all of the concealer so it looks like skin, but still ensures that there is coverage from the product. I absolutely love this brush and think everyone should get it.

What are you favourite eye brushes? I am always looking to add more to my collection!
