Favourite Instagram Accounts

I love Instagram and could spend all day scrolling through my feed and looking at the gorgeous pictures that people put on there. And although I don't use Instagram as much as I would like to (I am a perfectionist and my life isn't very Instagram worthy!) I do have some favourite accounts on there who's pictures are always so stunning that I thought that I would share them with you today.

Favourite Instagram Accounts @gh0stparties

@gh0stparties - I love Kate's account for the following reasons: 1. Her photography skills are amazing, 2. Her interior is stunning and exactly how I would want my house to look and 3. She has really cute cats (@dailymouse on Instagram) who make the occasional appearance. Enough said!

Favourite Instagram Accounts @kayleighjcouture

@kayleighjcouture - Kayleigh's Instagram account has been a favourite of mine ever since I discovered her blog about a year and a half ago. Not only does she share pictures of new outfits and makeup with the occasional snap of food, Kayleigh also posts pretty much daily (sometimes two or three times a day) so there is always something new in your feed from her.

Favourite Instagram Accounts @catherine.mw
@catherine.mw - Catherine's account is filled with lots of pink which I love as I am a bit pink obsessed! Her account is stunning and anyone who loves makeup and the occasional cupcake photo will love it too!

Favourite Instagram Accounts @amelialiana
@amelialiana - Amelia is not only one of my favourite YouTubers (I may have fangirled a little when she replied to one of my tweets!) but she also has a stunning Instagram account. Not only is her style always amazing, she also regularly shares snaps of her food, travels and her dog Duke also makes an appearance from time to time (@daily.duke on Instagram) which is too much cuteness to handle!!

I hope you enjoyed this post, what are you're favourite Instagram accounts?

NOTD || Essie Cute As a Button

Since Essie nail polishes are an obsession of mine, I thought that I should do a NOTD post featuring a very summer appropriate colour, Cute as a Button.

Cute as a Button is a gorgeous coral-pink shade which is perfect for the warmer weather and definitely one I will reach for before my holiday to Spain later on in the summer. Being a brighter colour it only needed two coats as a opposed to some more pastel shades that require 3 or 4 coats. It could have been a one coat job but it was a little patchy (bad nail painting skills on my half, lets just say painting my nails is not my forte!). So far it hasn't chipped, although it is only day 2 of it being on my nails, but for me that is pretty good as nail polish barely lasts a day on me usually. So, so far so good!

What are your favourite shades for the summer months?

Review || Bourjois Cream Blush

Review || Bourjois Cream Blush
Review || Bourjois Cream Blush
Yes, I know another Bourjois product review, but hey, I love their products. This time though it comes from the blush department with the Little Round Pot Cream Blush in Rose Tender. I picked this up a few months ago in a little Boots haul and have been using it most makeup wearing days since. The initial reason I picked this up is because I know many people prefer to use cream products in the summer rather than the traditional powder products, simply because they can feel lighter on the skin and less cakey. So since I didn't already own a cream blush I thought I would give this Bourjois one a go, and it was also 3 for 2 so I needed to get it...

There are 4 shades of this product, ranging from rose pinks to coral toned blushes, so there should be something for everyone, even if the choice isn't huge. depending on what you prefer for blush. I played it safe and went for Rose Tender simply because I thought this would be the perfect everyday shade and it would suit all times of the year. It has a hint of glitter/shimmer but nothing too disco ball, and unless you are looking up really close to the skin it doesn't appear to have any glitter once it is on the skin.

The formula of these blushes is cream to powder but it doesn't look at all powdery on the skin and still lets your skin appear radiant. I typically apply this with my fingers as I prefer the finishing look but I have also used a stippling brush which does also work if you prefer to use brushes. It sits really nicely on the skin without looking heavy so it is perfect for minimal makeup days and during the warmer months. Another great thing about this product is that even though it is light weight it packs a punch with it's pigmentation so you really don't need to use much product to get some colour on your cheeks.

I think I might pick up the other shades as I really do love this product. What other cream blushes should I try?

Review || Nuxe Rêve de Miel

Good lip balms are one of those things that I struggle to find. Along with finding the correct foundation shade and hair products that actually help frizz, good lip balms are not something I can find easily. For some reason most lip balms dry my lips out more than they hydrate them which can leave my lips looking and feeling more chapped than they were before. After hearing several amazing things about the Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Balm I felt that I had to pick it up. So whilst I was in Paris in March I picked it up in one of their fabulous pharmacies to see if this product lived up to its expectations.

The first thing that I noticed about this product was the amazing smell. Think citrus mixed with honey and you have the smell of this product. With  honey, plant oils, shea butter and grapefruit essence this product smells amazing and quite luxurious and all of these products help you go from chapped lips to nourished and hydrated lips.

The product itself really does work too. It's quite a thick product so it is a little more of an intense treatment than a lot of other lip balms, so I typically apply this before bed, but it can be used in the day too. Although it is a thick product it doesn't feel heavy, greasy or sticky on the lips which is also a bonus. After a couple of days of using this product my lips didn't have any dry patches and looked really healthy and moisturised. So in short, yes this product does really work!

Another thing that I love about this product is the packaging. The glass container looks very sleek and it looks lovely on my vanity, not an essential but it is a bonus.

Have you tried this product before? What did you think of it?

Travel Bucket List: Part III

One of my things that I would like to do is travel and if you couldn't already tell by my Travel Bucket Lists so far (Part I and Part II) I have a lot of places that I would like to visit, so today I thought I would do Part III of my Travel Bucket List.
South Africa, Travel Bucket List
South Africa
I would love to go on and African Safari and see all of the amazing animals in their natural environment because, although Longleat was great I don't think it is the same as the real deal. I have a few family members who have been to South Africa and they have all said that it is beautiful country that I would love to visit at some point.

Turkey, Travel Bucket List
Turkey
I love anywhere that is hot and sunny and from what I have heard from family and friends who have been to Turkey it is both of those things. Other than the weather I have heard that Turkey has some amazing culture and food which are both things I love when I visit new places. The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul also looks like an incredible place to visit.

Canada, Travel Bucket List
Canada
I love going skiing and have been skiing most years ever since I was 4. It is one of my favourite sports to do however I have only ever skied in Austria and although there are loads of places in Europe that I would love to ski at, Canada looks like an incredible alternative. It looks stunning and skiing with a view is always a bonus.

Brazil
Mainly Rio, but Brazil looks like such a fun place to visit. The beaches look gorgeous and I would love to attend one of their carnivals because they look like so much fun. There is also so much culture in Brazil that it would be amazing to experience it.

Indonesia
Specifically Bali but that is only because I have seen so many pictures on my Instagram feed that I feel like I need to visit it because it looks stunning! I would love to go swimming in the sea, maybe even snorkelling and seeing all of the fish whilst soaking up some rays. It all sounds like the perfect relaxing holiday destination.

Have you been to any of these places?

Gloss, Glitz and Glamour Turns 2!

So today marks the 2nd birthday of my blog which is crazy! It doesn't feel that long ago that I sat down at my computer and set this blog up and little did I know that I would still be doing it 2 years later and enjoying it more and more everyday!

Before I started blogging I had no idea how much work went into having a blog and I thought it would be an easy hobby where I got to discuss makeup but how wrong could I be! I think that's the one thing people don't have a blog don't understand about blogging is how much time it actually takes up and that you have to dedicate a lot of time to it. I would say that recently I have really put a lot more time into blogging and posting regularly (usually every Wednesday and Sunday if you were wondering!) and I have put more time into things like photography and planning posts. Although I still have a long list of things I want to improve (photography being one of them!) I think my blog is a lot better than it was at the beginning and I think that just comes with time and practise.

I absolutely love blogging and I am so glad that I started it because it is an amazing hobby to have. The beauty blogger community is also fantastic and a lot of my friends say how it's so nice how everyone helps everyone out, especially during #bblogger chats! Everyone is so supportive and lovely.

In the next year I would love to get myself a SLR camera because, although they are not an essential for blogging and you can just use a regular digital camera, I would like to improve my photography a little so I think it is time I invested in a more professional camera. I would also like to get my blog designed by someone and maybe be a little bit more active on my Instagram because I do neglect that one a bit!

So to finish this post up I would like to say thank you to anyone who follows my blog, has ever left a comment on here or just read my blog because I never thought anyone would find my little space of the internet so, thank you!

Review || MAC 286 Duo Fibre Tapered Blending Brush

MAC 286 Duo Fibre Tapered Blending Brush
MAC 286 Duo Fibre Tapered Blending Brush

When I was in Paris in March we may or may not have stumbled upon the biggest Sephora that I have ever seen on the Champs-Élysées. It was every makeup addicts dream with so many different brands all under one roof. It was amazing and I could quite easily spend the entire trip day in there browsing the counters and if money were no object, buying everything!! But unfortunately we only had a limited amount of time and I only had a limited amount of money that I wanted to spend so the only thing I walked out of the shop with was the MAC 286 Duo Fibre Tapered Blending Brush. Probably not the most adventurous purchase but I am glad that I did get it because it has quickly become one of my favourite brushes that I own.

Although it is really an eye brush my first thought was to use it to blend my under eye concealer as it is very soft and would be very gentle. So out I got my under eye concealer (which was the Bourjois CC Eye Cream) and blended it in and I couldn't even see that I had makeup on at all, It blended the product into my skin so flawlessly that I looked like I wasn't wearing any makeup at all.

Since it is a duo fibre brush it is really light and doesn't pick up too much product so when I have used this for eye shadow it applies a really light amount of product onto the lid, which is great for days when you want to wear eye shadow but not too much. It can also be used to blend out eye shadow and would be great for blending out a smokey eye and removing any harsh lines created by the products.

Have you ever tried this brush before?

Things Only People With Curly Hair Will Understand

Things Only People With Curly Hair Will Understand

Hello everyone! Today's post is the first one in a little series I have planned for my blog, the 'Things Only People With...Will Understand'. Today's post is going to be the curly hair edition with 5 things only people with curly hair will understand. I hope you enjoy it!

1. A brush is not going near our hair
Or a hair dryer for that matter, unless we want to rock the 'even frizzier than it naturally is' look. Unless you have even curlier hair than my (like my sister) or your prepared to go out with a frizz ball as hair, a brush will not be going near our hair until about a minute before we hop in the shower to wash it. The only other time I can brush my hair is when my hair has been heat styled, but then it isn't curly.

2. 'You should leave your hair natural more often, it looks really nice'
Trust me if you had curly hair you would understand that leaving it natural and keeping it looking like it does as first day hair is tough. Enter the straightener as they make life a hell of a lot easier and mean my hair needs little maintenance between washes

3. 'I wish I had curly hair, mine is so boring'
No, no you don't wish you had curly hair, it's not as easy as it looks to keep nice looking, frizz free curls. I know this the whole wanting what you can't have and always wanting the opposite to what you have but, trust me, unless you have been blessed with curls that look amazing all of the time you don't want curly hair

4. Humidity is our enemy
Or in fact, any type of dampness in the air, be it humidity or rain, our hair will grow in height, mainly due to the baby fluff frizz that just develops on the top of your head, almost like a halo of frizz. If it is raining or humid we will do our best to either cover our hair, or avoid going outside because it will not have a happy ending! Just think of Monica in Friends when they go to Barbados!

5. Putting our hair up and having to leave it up forever
Our hair will always have funny dents or hairband marks in it after it has been up. Even when it has been straightened the hairband will still leave behind a little souvenir dent in our hair to remind us of it's presence. This will then mean that once the hair goes up, it has to stay up until your next wash or at least until we can be bothered to tackle it.

There are many more things that I could add to this but if I did we would be here all day!! Maybe a Part II is in order?

April Favourites 2015

April Favourites 2015, eos, MAC, Bourjois, L'Oreal, Bobbi Brown.

April Favourites 2015, eos, MAC, Bourjois, L'Oreal, Bobbi Brown.

Hello everyone!

Another month is over which is both terrifying and exciting. It means we are one step closer to it being summer but it does mean that exams will be starting soon *sob, sob*. But it does mean that it is April Favourites time.

My first favourite this month is the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink. I often prefer gel eyeliner over other types because I find it easier to apply and it is often more pigmented. This gel liner is very creamy which makes it easier to apply than some drier eyeliners as it doesn't drag or pull on the eyelid. The lasting power of this is really good and it doesn't tend to smudge very easily which is a major plus for me as I find so many products set up camp under my eye within a few hours of wearing it and leave a lovely black smudge under my eyes. This definitely doesn't do that which is really good and the pigmentation is amazing.

Last month the Bourjois Colour Boost in Proudly Naked was one of my favourites, this month it is the same product but in Peach on the Beach. This is a gorgeous peachy pink (as the name suggests!) which is perfect for this time of year as it brightens up any makeup look. Being of a balmy consistency it is also more hydrating and looks nice and glossy on the lips.

Another Bourjois product in this favourites is the Little Round Pot Cream Blush in Rose Tender. I have been using this most days that I have worn makeup ever since I got this product at the beginning of this month because it is really amazing. A full review of this should be coming soon but in short this is a cream-to-powder formula that is pretty pigmented and it also blends really easily into the skin. The colour is perfect for an everyday look as it is subtle and just adds a hint of a pink to my cheeks.

I have really dry lips all year round and I find that a lot of lip balms actually dry out my lips rather than hydrate them. One of the few products that actually doesn't dry out my lips are the eos Balms (mine are in Sweet Mint and Honeysuckle Honeydew). Not only do they hydrate my lips but they also smell amazing which is always a bonus with any product.

A rediscovery for this month is the MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash which is a mascara that I loved a while ago and now I can remember why. It adds length, volume and separates the lashes which is exactly what I look for in a mascara. It also lasts all day on the lashes without a lot of fallout like a lot of other mascaras. It is one of the few high end mascaras I can justify splurging on.

The final product in this months favourites is the L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim Intense in Black. Other than gel liners, my other favourite type of eyeliner is a felt tip liner. This particular liner has a really thin tip which means I can create a thin line really close to my lash line and it is also perfect for adding a flick. It is really pigmented and is really long lasting.

I hope you enjoyed this monthly favourites post. Have you tried any of these products before?
