Multi Masking || L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks

Multi Masking || L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks
This blog post was supposed to be written and posted when these masks first came out around June/July but for some reason I never got around to writing it until now. However, I really wanted to write about these products as they have become a big part of my skincare routine over the past 5 or 6 months.

There are 3 different masks in this collection: the Purity mask, the Detox mask and the Glow mask and you can use all three of them at the same time on different parts of your face depending on your skin and what you feel like it needs (multi masking). I personally tend to use the Detox mask on my T-zone, the Glow mask on the lower part of my cheeks and the Purity mask on the tops of my cheeks, but I do change this up from time to time if my skin needs something different.

I'm going to start with the Purity mask. This mask is for purifying and mattifying the skin which can be really useful if you have oily skin. It contains ingredients that help mattify your skin without it feeling drying and it also leaves your skin feeling really clean.

The next mask is probably my favourite of the three, the Detox mask. This one does exactly what it says on the tin, it gives your skin a detox. It helps clean your pores out and this can help clear your skin and leave it looking cleaner and clearer. I use this one the most, especially when my skin isn't looking so good as I find it helps clear my skin up quicker.

The final mask is the Glow mask. This one is a different consistency to the other two as it contains tiny beads to help exfoliate the skin. It also contains ingredients that help brighten the skin and is the most hydrating of the three masks (hence the name Glow).

Have you ever tried these masks?

Review || Becca Glow on the Go in Moonstone

Review || Becca Glow on the Go in Moonstone
Becca is always a brand that comes up in recommendations when you are in need of a new highlighter so of course when I was putting together my Christmas Wishlist, the Becca Glow on the Go Kit in Moonstone had to make an appearance, so you can imagine I was over the moon when I was lucky enough to receive it!
Review || Becca Glow on the Go in Moonstone
The kit contains two products, the Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight in Moonstone and the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone. My favourite of the two products is the Spotlight one, a liquid highlighter that helps to make your skin look so dewy and glowy. I love to apply this to the tops of my cheekbones, my cupids bow and down the bridge of my nose and it looks really natural as it isn't overly glittery or shimmery, it simply makes your skin look radiant.

The pressed powder is also a lovely golden product that I prefer if I want something a bit more obvious, or occasionally I apply a little bit of this on top of the liquid highlighter to set everything in place. It is a little bit more shimmery than the liquid version but if applied with a light hand, it can look really subtle.

Both of them sit really well on the skin and have a really good lasting power, so there is no need to do touch-ups throughout the day!

Have you ever tried either of these products?

Review || Hourglass Surreal Light Palette

Review || Hourglass Surreal Light Palette
If you are in need of a new face palette the Hourglass Surreal Light Palette should be on your shopping list. Firstly Hourglass powders are some of the best that I have ever tried, really lovely consistency and easy to apply and blend. Secondly, this palette is housed in a beautiful marble case with gold lettering on the front, which makes it even more beautiful.
Review || Hourglass Surreal Light Palette
The palette contains five different powders:

The biggest one is Surreal Light, which is an all over face powder, perfect for setting your makeup without your makeup looking matte.
Then there is the bronzer shade, Surreal Bronze Light, a really lovely bronzer shade mixed with Surreal Light to warm up the skin.
One of the two blush shades is Surreal Glow, a peony pink blush mixed with Surreal Light to add a really lovely natural blush.
Surreal Effect (probably my favourite powder in the whole palette) is a pink rose mixed with a warmer peach colour that adds a lovely amount of colour to the cheeks.
Surreal Strobe Light is a gorgeous, shimmery highlighting shade with a hint of peachy pink.

The powders look really natural on the skin and even though they are shimmery, they don't look glittery or over the top, so can be worn in the day and they give a beautiful glow.

Have you tried this palette yet?

2016 Makeup Favourites || Hourglass, L'Oreal, Max Factor and MORE!

It's that time of the year again when we round-up our most reached for beauty products of the year. I haven't got too many this year and they are all new products to me. Some products from last years favourites were reached for a lot over the past twelve months but I think these products were my absolute favourites out of my makeup collection.

I am going to start with face makeup first. The L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation (REVIEW) has been my most reached for face product of the year. It is such a gorgeous lightweight, buildable product that makes it perfect to wear when you don't want to wear too much makeup but feel like you need a base product. And another really good thing about this product is that it has a shade pale enough, even for me!!

I have also been reaching for the Seventeen Stay Time Concealer (REVIEW) a lot this year. This has quickly become my favourite concealer because 1. it is pale enough for me, and 2. it is a really lovely consistency so I can use it under my eyes without it feeling heavy and cakey. And it is also really cheap which is another bonus!

I couldn't do this favourites without mentioning the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette (REVIEW) which I think might be my favourite product of 2016. I received this for Christmas 2015 and since then I haven't stopped using this. It is the perfect palette with 3 highlighters/setting powders, 2 blush shades and 1 bronzer. They all look gorgeous on the skin and also last really well. I love this palette so much that I asked for the new version of it for Christmas this year and I can't wait to use it.

The final face product is the Topshop Glow Pots in Gleam and Polished (REVIEW). I used these all of the time in the summer, especially when I was on holiday as they give your skin the perfect dewy highlight which you can make more intense the more product you apply.

Onto eye products now and I only have two products to mention. First one is the YSL Babydoll Mascara. I received this as a birthday present from one of my best friends and I haven't stopped using it since then. It lengthens and adds volume to my lashes which is exactly what I want in a mascara.

The second product is the Max Factor Masterpiece Nude Palette in Cappuccino Nudes. Hands down my favourite eyeshadow palette of all time. The shadows are really pigmented and are really buttery so apply and blend really well. The shades are also my perfect eyeshadow colours, I honestly cannot fault this palette!

For lips, the only stand out product from this year for me is the Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Nude Pop. This is a lovely nude shade which I love for both day and night and has definitely been my most reached for lip product of the year.

The only other product that I wanted to mention is the fragrance I have been wearing all of the time which is Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede. I received this as a gift last Christmas and I have worn it pretty much everyday. It is such a stunning scent and I will definitely buy the big bottle once this one runs out!

What have been your favourite products from 2016?

Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017 || Goals for the Year

2017, New Year's Resolutions, Goals for 2017

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2016 is now over (anyone else glad to see the back of it?) and 2017 has begun and I hope that this year is a good one for everyone! Today's post is going to be rounding up the past 12 months and I am also going to share with you some of my goals for this year.

So 2016 was a weird one. A levels took over my life so everything else had to take a back seat, including blogging as my exams had to take priority. Then in August results day changed my plans a little and I decided to take a gap year and reapply for a different course. At the time I was so upset that I hadn't got into the course I originally applied for but now I couldn't be happier with what I am doing and the path I have now chosen to go down. So whilst most of my friends went off to uni, I started work experience and I have absolutely loved it.

2017 will hopefully be the year I start university and move out of home for the first time, which is both scary and exciting. Until then I plan to keep myself busy with more work experience and I have also set myself 10 different goals for the new year, some cliché, others not so much.

1. READ MORE - I want to try and read at least a book a month this year
2. MOVE MORE - I really want to try and be a little more active this year, even if it is only 15 minutes a day.
3. HAVE MORE ME TIME - I need to find time in my week to relax, do my nails, read a book or just do nothing.
4. LEARN SOMETHING NEW - I really want to learn a new language this year as languages were something I really loved at school.
5. STAY TIDY FOR THE WHOLE YEAR - Keeping my room tidy and organised is something I really want to work on this year.
6. EAT MY FIVE A DAY - Some days I struggle to get 1 or 2 of my 5 a day. I want to try and add more fruit and veg into my diet.
7. HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE - This is something I have got better at recently but I still think I could do better.
8. COOK MORE - I want to become more confident cooking, mainly so that when I go to uni I don't have to live off of ready meals and pizza!
9. BLOG A LITTLE MORE - Last year was a bit of a blogging fail, so I want to try and blog as often as I can this year, starting with one post a week in January.
10. PASS PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TESTS AND GET INTO UNI - I am hoping to start studying to become a teacher this year, but need to pass the numeracy and literacy tests first!

What are your goals for the New Year?
