Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017 || Goals for the Year

2017, New Year's Resolutions, Goals for 2017

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2016 is now over (anyone else glad to see the back of it?) and 2017 has begun and I hope that this year is a good one for everyone! Today's post is going to be rounding up the past 12 months and I am also going to share with you some of my goals for this year.

So 2016 was a weird one. A levels took over my life so everything else had to take a back seat, including blogging as my exams had to take priority. Then in August results day changed my plans a little and I decided to take a gap year and reapply for a different course. At the time I was so upset that I hadn't got into the course I originally applied for but now I couldn't be happier with what I am doing and the path I have now chosen to go down. So whilst most of my friends went off to uni, I started work experience and I have absolutely loved it.

2017 will hopefully be the year I start university and move out of home for the first time, which is both scary and exciting. Until then I plan to keep myself busy with more work experience and I have also set myself 10 different goals for the new year, some cliché, others not so much.

1. READ MORE - I want to try and read at least a book a month this year
2. MOVE MORE - I really want to try and be a little more active this year, even if it is only 15 minutes a day.
3. HAVE MORE ME TIME - I need to find time in my week to relax, do my nails, read a book or just do nothing.
4. LEARN SOMETHING NEW - I really want to learn a new language this year as languages were something I really loved at school.
5. STAY TIDY FOR THE WHOLE YEAR - Keeping my room tidy and organised is something I really want to work on this year.
6. EAT MY FIVE A DAY - Some days I struggle to get 1 or 2 of my 5 a day. I want to try and add more fruit and veg into my diet.
7. HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE - This is something I have got better at recently but I still think I could do better.
8. COOK MORE - I want to become more confident cooking, mainly so that when I go to uni I don't have to live off of ready meals and pizza!
9. BLOG A LITTLE MORE - Last year was a bit of a blogging fail, so I want to try and blog as often as I can this year, starting with one post a week in January.
10. PASS PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TESTS AND GET INTO UNI - I am hoping to start studying to become a teacher this year, but need to pass the numeracy and literacy tests first!
