The Versatile Blogger Award

A little while ago the lovely Alicia from Clever Spice nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. So today I decided to do my post on this award. The rules are simple and they are:
  1. Thank the person who nominated you & link their blog
  2. Each nominee must name 7 things about themselves
  3. They must nominate 15 blogs or bloggers they've recently discovered or follow regularly
  4. Inform the nominees about their award
  5. No tag backs!
So here are 7 things about me:
  1. I love going shopping and me and one of my friends have a bit of an obsession with Topshop and are known to spend about 2 hours (sometimes more) in Topshop each shopping trip (and I'm not talking about a big Topshop either!)
  2. I spend far too much time on YouTube.
  3. I love going to London but I don't go there very often.
  4. I am a bit obsessed with the TV show Friends. I watch it all the time and even have the box set.
  5. I love travelling and visiting new places
  6. I HATE spiders.
  7. I don't like the cold at all and prefer being in warm, sunny places.
Now the lovely bloggers I am nominating:
  1. Jen from Looks and Lifestyle
  2. Emily from EmilyBelleBlogs
  3. Emily form emiloue
  4. Sophy from lashesandsplashes
  5. Merrie from Life As Merrie
I know I have only nominated 5 people but I would rather nominated the blogs that I feel deserve the nomination.

Thank you again to Alicia for nominating me.

Haul: Benefit and Boots

Benefit and Boots haul
On Saturday I decided I needed to go into Boots to get a new concealer and I had my eyes on the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer because everyone loves it and says how amazing it is at covering blemishes, which was what I needed it for. And of course I had to go to the Benefit store in the town I was in because how could I not?! I bought a few things that I wanted to share with you as I am very excited about them.
Benefit gimme brow
I went into Benefit looking for their new brow product 'gimme brow' as I thought it would be the perfect product for my fair brows. I tried it in the store and instantly fell in love with it as it made my brows fuller and slightly darker, but still very natural. Of course I bought it and I am so happy to have it in my collection. I got the shade Light/Medium as this was the shade that best suited me. I'm sure I will do a full review in a couple of weeks as it is an amazing product and I think it will work for everyone.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Real Techniques Blush Brush
As I have already mentioned, the reason I went to Boots was to get the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Because, as always my skin tone has to be annoying, the first shade 'Fair' was slightly too light, more of an under eye concealer colour for me, and the second shade 'Cool Medium' was slightly too dark. So I decided to get both colours and I will have to mix them to get my perfect shade.

As Boots are currently having one of their '3 for 2' offers I decided to make the most of it and get the Real Techniques Blush Brush. I really needed a good blush brush as mine is not great and because I love my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush so I decided to give this brush a try as I figured it is probably just as good.

Have you bought anything from either Benefit or Boots recently? If so let me know what it was so that maybe I can try some new products!

My Favourite Eyeliners

Left picture||Top: Collection 24hour Felt Tip Liner, Bottom: MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack

Being a bit obsessed with eyeliner means that over the years I have built up quite a collection of different eyeliners. But in amongst this collection there are 5 eyeliners that I reach for the most and that I could not live without and so today I have decided to share my current favourite eyeliners with you.

Collection Extreme 24hour Felt Tip Liner

Collection Extreme 24hour Felt Tip Liner in Black||Link
Back in May last year I posted a review of this product (you can read it here) and it just proves how much I love it because 9 months later I am still writing about it. Being a felt tip liner you get the effect of a liquid liner without the hassle of applying it. You can wear it thick, thin, flick or no flick and it doesn't fall down your face or smudge as the day goes on.

MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack

This is probably my favourite eyeliner ever simply because it is the easiest thing to apply (I use the MAC 210 Precise Eyeliner Brush to do this). The pigmentation and lasting power of this eyeliner is very good and, as you can probably tell from the far right picture, it is well used but it has also lasted a long time (I bought this back in September) which makes the £15 it costs money well spent.

GOSH Velvet Touch Eyeliner

The Velvet Touch eyeliners are the best pencil eyeliners I have ever used. They apply like a dream because of their slightly creamy consistency and because they are waterproof they stay on all day long without budging at all. The only downfall might be that it is a nightmare to remove even with the best eye makeup removers but other than that they are amazing. I have many of their colours but these two are my favourite, a black one and a dark brown.

Barry M Kohl Pencil Liner

Barry M Kohl Pencil in Grey||Link

Kohl eyeliners tend to be my least favourite because they don't normally apply that well and I always end up tugging on my eyelids in an attempt to apply them however I really like this particular kohl. Although it applies like most other kohl liners (although once warmed up a little it works better) the colour is probably why it is being featured in this post because I tend to reach for this when I want a slightly more subtle liner look rather than going for an intense black line. The finished look of this is really nice and

So there are my favourite eyeliners. I'm always looking for more eyeliners to add to my ever growing collection, so if you have a favourite eyeliner that I have not mentioned please leave a comment below and tell me what it is.

Which Rimmel Powder?

Both in the shade Transparent
Rimmel is one of my favourite brands, especially recently, and one of their most well known products has to be their Stay Matte powder. Many beauty bloggers talk about how good it is and the other day I decided to try it out for myself. Then a couple of days later I was browsing the Boots website and discovered their Clear Complexion Powder. Now I believe this has been around for a while, but to me this is a new product as I have never noticed it or even heard of it before. So because I have slightly oily skin I thought, why not give it a try, and hey, a girl can never have too many powders right? Today I am going to be comparing/reviewing both of these powders.
First off the Clear Complexion Powder. Can we just start with how pretty the packaging is compared to the Stay Matte powder's packaging. The colour is so pretty and I know that in the end that has not got an effect on how good the product is but it doesn't hurt when something looks pretty sitting in your makeup collection.
Now away from the packaging and to the product itself. Rimmel claim that this powder will provide you with a shine free finish for up to 5 hours and that it will clarify your skin and minimise breakouts. Now I haven't been using this product for long enough to be able to tell you if it has minimised my breakouts (I will let you know at a later date), but it does leave my skin shine free and it has a very natural finish. Even though in the swatch it appears to have more coverage than the Stay Matte powder I find that it has a slightly more natural, less powdery looking finish which I prefer as too much powder was never a good look.
The only potential issue could be that you can only get it in one shade, Transparent, and that might not suit everyone, but for me it is not a major issue as I tend to choose transparent shades to save from the stress of choosing my exact shade.
Now the Stay Matte powder. This powder does exactly what it says in the name, keep your skin matte. Rimmel also claims that it will minimise the appearance of pores. Since my pores are very small or invisible I haven't noticed if it has done this but I'm sure it would help. This powder also contains natural minerals and comes in 6 different shades, which could make it a slightly better product for those who prefer to use a tinted powder rather than just a transparent one. I find with this product though that you have to be careful as to how much you apply, because if you apply a tiny bit too much it can look a little bit overly powdered, which as I already said, I personally do not like. However once you know how much of this product to apply it is amazing and keeps my skin looking shine free for most of the day.
I personally love both of these powders for different reasons and would recommend the two of them to you. Both of these lovely powders are available at the amazing price of £3.99, so it would be silly not to buy them, right?
Have you tried these products before? What do you think of them?

NOTD: Rimmel Marshmallow Heaven

Hello everyone!
Since I don't have school for a week I decided to paint my nails today. Since the weather outside is so rubbish I thought my nails needed to be bright and cheerful so that every time I saw them it would take my mind of the grey sky outside. So I decided to paint my nails in Rimmel's 'I Love Lasting Finish' nail polish in Marshmallow Heaven. It is a beautiful lilac colour and the lasting power of these Rimmel nail polishes is very good, I highly recommend them if you haven't already tried them especially as they are only £2.99.

Have you tried any of the Rimmel Nail Polishes? If so what colours do you recommend?

Review: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Hello everyone!
When I was in Boots recently (read my haul here) I saw this little product and decided that I needed to try it out. This 'little product' turns out to be the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. Micellar water is a product that has been around for a while, and many of you may have heard of the Bioderma Sensibio H2O and the La Roche-Posay Physiological Micellar solution to name a few but I has never tried any until now and so when I saw this I thought, why not?
So what do I think of it? I love it. It does exactly what it says on the tin, it removes my eye makeup easily, even waterproof mascara and it doesn't leave any makeup behind. After use my skin feels soft, clean and refreshed and it doesn't irritate my eyes like some eye makeup removers do.
So overall I would totally recommend this product to any of you wanting to try it out. At only £4.99 for 400ml of product it is definitely an affordable product and you can buy it here!
Have you tried this product or any other Micellar water products?

Ideas For a Decorating and Organising Your Dressing Table

Hello everyone!
Recently I have been thinking about making a few changes to my room and one of these changes is how I organise my makeup. At the moment it is on the top of a drawer/shelving unit and since I have more makeup than I use regularly, it tends to gather dust. So in my brainstorming for ideas I decided to go onto weheartit to seek inspiration and I found some really cute and simple ideas that I wanted to share with you.
Both from weheartit
Fairy lights are such a simple way to make your dressing table look perfect. The cream flowers lights are similar to the ones from Urban Outfitters featured in this Wishlist and I think they could make any old mirror look amazing. The little tree of lights and other fairy lights are a slightly different approach to the traditional fairy lights and I really like them.

Vintage tea cups are a popular way of storing a variety of things, ranging from hair ties to rings and I think it can spruce up any boring dressing table.
     All from weheartit
Organising makeup and brushes are the main thing I think about when it comes to rearranging and changing my dressing table as I need it to be organised, simple and accessible.  The above pictures really show simple but cute ways to organise your makeup brushes and makeup. I really like the way the makeup is put in a dressing table drawer because it keeps it out of the way but easy to access and the brushes are not just put in a draw but displayed.
How do you decorate and organise your dressing table?

Haul: Boots, Topshop and River Island

Hello everyone!
A little while ago I went on a shopping trip so I have decided to share what I bought with you.

River Island

Yellow Daisy Short Statement Necklace £12
Grey Bow Back Slouchy Marl Top £22
Both of these things were featured in a Weekly Wishlist I did a little while ago and when I was in River Island I knew I had to look for these two things. And I was lucky enough to find them.
Knitted Abstract Jacquard Top £36

This was one of the 16 things I tried on in Topshop (yes you read that right, 16) and was the only thing I bought. Don't get me wrong, I liked the majority of the things I tried on but my purse would not have liked it so I decided to only buy this. Its a little different to anything else I own but different can be good and this top proves that.

Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation £8.99|| Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water £4.99|| Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder £3.99

All of these things were things I really wanted. There will be a review coming shortly on the Micellar water because it is a completely new type of product for me and I am excited to try it. The Rimmel products were more of an essential purchase but were products I really wanted to try out.
